Currently surviving my very first tornado warning? so far
I've never been in a tornado warning before. So far, it's a bit of a let down. No sign of the little guys or those ruby red slippers anywhere.

In this picture, I'm wearing my favourite blue lambswool sweater, which (three years later, in the throes of absent-mindedness) I accidentally threw into the washing machine -- thereby shrinking it to doll-sized proportions.

I know that I'm extremely lucky to have choices available to me, because not everyone does. I try not to take that privilege for granted and am gonna do my best to live, love and laugh my way through this existence.

You should have been in Ottawa on August 2 - we had a tornado warning here too! Didn't really know what to do - basement? doorframe? Before we decided, the warning was over. Not so lucky at the cottage in Barry's Bay (Combermere), though. Pretty much all of the big trees were blown down or snapped off. The cottage itself largely avoided damage - only a couple of trees leaned against it. Some of the neighbours were not so lucky.
