Soccer: game #3

We played our third soccer game on Wednesday evening. After winning our first two games of the season, we faced the fearsome Orange team. Tough, fast, and young, these guys really surprised us by totally dominating the play in the first few minutes of the game. We were back on our heels initially, but then managed to recover somewhat to craft some good scoring chances before halftime -- including a couple of good rushes compliments of yours truly.

The game was tied 1-1 at halftime, and the second half was even tighter. They scored 2 more goals to go ahead 3-1, but the play was actually slicker, faster, and more frenzied. We had a few more good scoring chances and then it finally happened -- I scored my first goal of the season!!

So we had drawn closer to trail by only one goal, 3-2. The last few minutes featured a couple more frantic scoring chances, but they weren't converted and we lost. Still, our team played well, we keep improving, and -- oh ya, did I mention?? -- I finally scored my first goal of the season. At least there's that!
